At the beginning of December, some of our members attended the Hideaway Invitational Event. Marilyn Harlan, Bev Reeves, Julie Iverson, Betty Kollar, Debbie Hedges, Sue Lentz, and Ginny Minarchi represented the Landings. These events are designed to allow our members to play at other courses and socialize with people from other clubs. Watch the bulletin board outside the golf shop to see when the next ones are happening.
Our first Friday of December was a Criers Tournament Scramble. Teams were able to cry over their bad holes and then convert one of those scores back to par.
The annual Christmas Luncheon was on December 14th. The committee of Ruth Hockert, Kathy Langton, Anne Murray, and Pattie Parrett put together a fun golf round followed by an amazing lunch. Our ladies enjoyed a delicious festive meal which included a fresh green salad, tomato bisque, chicken stuffed crepes, cranberry muffins, and ice cream sundaes. The room and the players were all decked out in red and green. What a beautiful sight! Once again, our members did us proud by making a generous donation to the Gladiolus Food Bank by donating cash and non-perishable food items.
The third week of play in December was a “Play Your Own Game” Week. It is important to participate in these “Play Your Own Game” weeks as well as the fun scramble weeks, especially if you want to compete in the Championship rounds. The Championships are flighted, so they are fair and open to all our members.

Given the number of people away for the holidays, there was a smaller group out on the last Friday of December to play the T, S, N Scramble. In this game only the scores from holes that that start with T, S, and N are counted.
