Impoetant Message Concerning Your Comcast/Xfinity TV and Internet Service
Comcast/Xfinity has been providing TV service to the Landings for many years. About 8 years ago, Internet service was added along with HDTV and the ability to record or watch old shows. During that time, fiber optic service was run throughout the community and into our residences. Since then, our TV performance has improved and our Internet speeds have increased 700% providing faster service.
The current agreement runs into 2026, but earlier this year we learned Comcast/Xfinity was willing to sign a contract extension at reduced costs provided we consolidate our village contracts into one single agreement. The Village Presidents recognized the opportunity and have worked with The Landings Administration, to obtain a new and more attractive agreement effective January 1, 2025.
We were able to negotiate a reduction in our monthly fees, a signing bonus, plus HBO (channel 416) at no additional charge while maintaining the same level of TV and Internet service. The single monthly bill will be paid by the Landings, and re-billed to the villages much like our water fees so the costs will still be paid by your village monthly assessment.
The Landings Administration role is to facilitate a single agreement and process the re-bill each month; the Administration Office will not resolve issues with your service. All performance or equipment issues still need to be resolved thru the Comcast/Xfinity service process via the toll-free number or at one of their service centers.
For anyone who is currently personally purchasing HBO, the monthly fee should stop on January 1, 2025 and you will receive a credit for any amount prepaid. Please watch your bills for this change or call the Comcast/Xfinity help desk after the first of the year to verify the change has been processed.
As part of the new agreement, all owners are eligible to upgrade their equipment. If you have the original boxes from 8 years ago and you have newer TVs, you may find improved picture quality with new equipment. To obtain an upgrade, contact a local Comcast/Xfinity office for an appointment to exchange the equipment. The local Comcast/Xfinity locations are on 6 Mile Cypress Parkway near Colonial, or in Cape Coral on Pine Island Road. If you request Comcast/Xfinity to bring out and install the equipment, there will be a charge for this service.
This new agreement will run through March 2031, or 5 years beyond our existing agreement.
