Karen Shelton, LLGA-18 Champion.

A huge “Congratulations” to our 2025-26 LLGA-18 League champion, Karen Shelton. Championship low gross play took place over two days and it was an amazing finish with all participants playing their hearts out.

First Place Flight winners are Lynda Redmon, Marilyn Collins and Mary Ann Spry. We hope to encourage more of our members to participate in the Championship tournament, as it is such a rewarding experience.

Our End of Year awards luncheon was just held and Most Improved Player Award was presented to Cheri Fletcher. Karen Shelton had the most Birdies for the year and Lynda Redmon most Chip-ins. The “Ringer” winner for the year with a low gross score of 47 also is Lynda Redmon, and Linda Tucker is the low net winner. The “Ringer” is a tally of your best score of each hole for the season.

Our Board for the new season was introduced and all 2024-25 members were thanked for a great year. Board members are President Lynne Denk, V.P. Lesley Patey, Secretary Liz Welsh, Treasurer Marty Roemer, Asst. Treasurer Diane Giebner, Membership, Christy Fitz, Rules and Handicap Lynda Redmon, Member at Large, Karen Shelton and Away play, Sarah Noyes.

Our league welcomes our new Director of Golf, Mark Wehrman. We look forward to getting to know him and support his leadership here at the Landings and hope he enjoys what our Landings golf programs have to offer. Our league has worked with our golf pro Chris Lajoie for so many years where he has helped us through thick and thin. Thank you Chris for all the time and effort you put in to help in pairings, schedules, scoring and instruction. We appreciate your support and wish you well in your new venture of golf.

We do miss our LEGA and away play days, but several of our members were invited to a “Guest” day at Gulf Harbor C.C. with their lady golfers. Isn’t “Putters, Petals, and Pearls” a fun theme for a ladies golf outing? Helen Amy, Diane Giebner, Christy Fitz, and Belinda Stacey had a great time with Helen coming home with a win.

Another “Hole in One” occurred on our Awards Day game where we played a 2 BB Shamble. You take the best drive and play your own ball from that drive, and Linda Maness had a hole in one on the third hole to give the team a great score for that hole. Great playing Linda!

Needless to say, our year was full of golf activity, social activity, and enjoying our very special 18-hole league in so many ways. We welcome another new member, Colleen Clark to our membership. As always, we look forward to playing golf and getting to know you. Play will continue on Wednesday mornings when the course is open.

Have a great May and don’t forget to wish a Mom “Happy Mother’s Day.” Fly your flag and remember Memorial Day!
