New Record Set at Ariel
By now it must be clear to readers that Ariel residents enjoy getting together to eat, drink and be merry. The latest occasion was on Sunday, March 23, when a record-breaking 107 people turned out on that beautiful day for the Spring Fling Potluck BBQ.

Ariel’s Social Committee, headed by chair Jan Helyer, provided hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwursts and rolls as well as beer, wine, watermelon vodka cocktails, and water. Participants were free to bring their own beverage of choice as well as a potluck dish to share. They responded by bringing all types of appetizers, salads and desserts that were enjoyed by all.

The party began at 5 p.m. on Ariel’s beautiful wraparound pool deck, located on the second floor of the 18-story building. The deck, measuring a gracious 40,000 square feet, was completely renovated with porcelain pavers surrounding the large pool and concrete pavers everywhere else.

The Spring Fling event attracted 107 Ariel residents who thoroughly enjoyed the party.
The deck also features very large concrete planters that were part of the building’s original design. Triple Christmas palms anchor the beds and are up-lighted all night, which lends an elegant air to the space.
Coral creeper, a flowering ground cover, Taiwanese red ixora, and fragrant gardenias that bloom in profusion at this time of year are among the plants that create the beautiful garden beds. In the largest planter, Nora Grant ixora and green island ficus are added to the base plantings mentioned above.

The planters on the huge deck are filled with beautiful flowering and fragrant ground cover, shrubs and palms.
That stunning backdrop and friendly neighbors are just two of the reasons Ariel residents are always eager to get together. The owners consider themselves very lucky to live in such a delightful place.

Residents had such a good time getting together that the party continued until dusk.
