Last Sunday-Funday of the Season

On a breezy, sunny Sunday afternoon 90 Windjammer residents and guests attended our BBQ party at Picnic Pointe. Derek Rauchfleisz, Mary and Mark Willis and Eva Bell grilled fifteen racks of ribs and a roaster full of BBQ chicken. The guests brought a variety of delicious sides and desserts.

Since it was the final party of the season we hired Double Dare, a fantastic musical trio that everyone knows from their performances at the Compass Rose. We were entertained for several hours with quiet music during dinner and later with peppy dance tunes. Everyone had a good time, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back next season.

Goodbye to our neighbors

On Thursday, March 20, 2025, we said goodbye to our neighbors Derek and Jen Rauchfleisz. Brenda and Bentley Collins hosted a cocktail party at their home and a group of neighbors of E. Mainmast Court attended to wish them well. Derek and Jen are going back to their home in Ontario and Derek shared that he is looking forward to spending the summer working at his daughter’s house and to hunting mushrooms.

Congratulations to our Mike Maile

Mike Maile and Chris Jackson won the White Division Consolation Bracket of The Landing’s Cup Tennis Tournament on March 22. They lost their first match to the eventual champions. However, they won their next two matches to win the consolation bracket. They played a total of 44 games of tennis in one day. Mike admitted that they were very sore and tired the next day. “Not bad for a 75-year-old,” Mike said.
