Ladies’ 9-Holer Golf

This past October our league day just happened to fall on October 31. As a result, some golfers decided to wear costumes that were so creative. I admire those able to transform everyday pieces into great costume ideas! Fabulous gifts and prizes were given for the best costumes.

Costume winners received prizes for their creativity.

A few significant others were found on the course with Halloween treats. We appreciated them coming out to enliven our play. The treats tasted great, even if they didn’t help all of us with our golf scores.

Ruth Hockert, Tom and Bev Reeves, and Mary Greenberg provided treats.

On November 14, we celebrated our Fall Harvest Luncheon, which was hosted by Cindy Brown and Kelley Wilson. We enjoyed a great meal and fellowship at the Helm Club.

The luncheon was held for a good cause, too. We were able to raise $2,100 for the Gladiolus Food Pantry, a worthy cause everyone can get behind. Currently, their greatest needs are for cooking oil, spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, kid’s cereal, mayonnaise and ketchup.

The hungry golfers enjoyed the delicious buffet prepared by the Helm Club staff.

Unfortunately for me, I missed the Bingo Game play. That is a game where you may catch a big break or suffer the consequences of a bad shot. Hopefully it will be played again later this season.

Hats off to the check-in ladies for this month.
