Greetings all. Many of our neighbors have returned to The Landings and Mariners Cove Village.
We had a great welcome back party at Picnic Pointe. Our theme was your “favorite football team” and the New York Giants was the most popular, by far.

Carl and Patti McMackin boarded the Queen Mary 2 in NYC in early September for a seven-night cruise to Southampton, England. During their voyage, they enjoyed amenities such as fine dining, several venues for live entertainment, historic lectures, the planetarium and relaxing spa treatments aboard, and arrived free of jet lag.

They flew to Florence, Italy for a brief stay and authentic Florentine steak. They rented a car and drove to southern Tuscany near the renaissance town of Pienza for a week at an agrotourism property. This is their second stay in Cretaiole, the 14th century farmhouse where provisions from the Moricciani family farm are provided. Nothing like fresh bread, eggs directly from under the chickens, dried meats, cheeses, fresh vegetables, their own wine, and olive oil. They participated in traditional pici pasta making which was served with the Tuscan dinner grilled by their hosts, wine and olive oil tasting dinners, an Etruscan cave tour, and enjoying the beautiful countryside and Pienza.
In Civitavecchia, the port for Rome, they boarded the Windsurf for an 11-night cruise around Sicily, Malta, the Amalfi Coast, and Naples. They even made our own pizza! They saw so many cathedrals, Greek and Roman ruins, beautiful islands including nighttime cruising past Stromboli, one of the four erupting volcanos in Italy.

We have to say goodbye to Jack and Janice Purse, who will be moving soon to be near family. Thank you for all your contributions to MCV. You will be missed.
On a sad note, MCV lost a long-time resident, Deborah (Dee) Hedges, who passed away recently. Our condolences to her family.
