It is amazing that we are into fall plans for our golf league. Our LLGA-18 board has an exciting schedule for the season, which run from October 7, 2026, through April 15, 2027. Every member should have received the new schedule which has some big changes, making it more pleasant for our members during the winter season. Weather created some unpleasant experiences on so many of our Wednesday mornings, especially for our Member/Guest play day and lunch and President’s Cup Tournament. A Member/Member Memorial Tournament is a new addition which will be an annual event in memory of wonderful members who have recently passed. Thank you, Lynne Denk and Leslie Patey for the work and time it took to complete a great schedule.
It is time to sign up and pay your dues for the 2026-27 membership in the league. Contact Cathy Steeves for this information, and invite and welcome new members as well. We look forward to our little membership book which will be ready for you on your return.
There have been an average of 10 to 12 gals playing on many HOT summer mornings, awarding sweeps for NET or GROSS play. Players in the winning circle for this past month are Liz Welsh, Jo Wagner, and Karen Shelton for Low Gross, and Martha Whipple, Marty Roemer, Nancy Yavorsky and Lynne Denk for Low Net.
Our Director of Golf, Justin Glover, has done a great job in organizing the “Play Away Days” and Webb’s Reserve was another wonderful experience. He has also added some great patriotic golf balls in the shop to help celebrate the 250th Anniversary of our nation. Check them out, as it is fun to play with a great ball and hopefully ending the round with a great score. Note other nice additions and changes in the Pro shop for our convenience.
The 3M PGA tournament was recently held in Blaine, Minnesota, and those who watched Jackson Koivun win this great tournament had to be impressed and excited for this 21-year-old golfer who just LOVES golf! We wish him well and hope to see him for many years among our golfer greats.
