After a brief respite in reporting, we are back with the Trawler Spotlight featuring Bernie and Michelle Esch of Stoughton, Wisconsin. The couple have been inseparable since meeting on a blind date which has clearly led to a wonderful life together. The couple have been blessed with three children, Ally, a physician, who in turn has blessed the family with two children of her own, Ethan an electrician, and Sam an engineer. The couple spent a considerable amount of time researching the best spots for retirement and wisely settled on LYGTC, where they have mutual friends. Bernie was an electrician’s apprentice for five years after attending technical school, and eventually owned his own electrical contracting business, which he recently sold. He continues to consult for the new owners and has jumped right into assisting at Trawler with some upgrades to our elevator electrical systems.
Michelle attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned a B.S. while becoming a physician’s assistant. The couple plan to fully retire this winter and pursue their interest in travel, golf, and “glamping” in their camper. Their travels have taken them to various sites around the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean, along with other tropical destinations. In the planning is a trip down the Rhine and exploration of Switzerland, Michelle’s family homeland. Trawler welcomes you both and we look forward to your participation in the many and varied social events in the village.
Larry and Lesley Patey recently completed a tour of the Greek Islands, Crete and Athens in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary! The couple celebrated the special day with family in Santorini, as daughter Ashley and her husband, Ben, along with their boys, Barrett and Griffin, toasted the lovely couple. Congratulations!
Doug and Melissa Hall celebrated the recent graduation of their son, Tim, from the Connecticut Corrections Academy, where Tim completed his requirements to become a Corrections Officer in the state’s Penal system. Tim is hoping to follow in Doug’s footsteps which led from Corrections to a career with the Connecticut State Police. Doug and Melissa reside in Plainfield, Connecticut and get down here as often as possible while both still work full time. Congratulations on a job well done, Tim!
