Members of the Landings Fishing Club enjoy the monthly TGI Fishing Pizza Night.
Members of the Landings Fishing Club gathered for their monthly celebration, known as TGI Fishing Pizza Night. The group has been an integral part of the club activities at The Landings for decades. They now need someone to head up or help organize the festivities for the coming year.
One of the most celebrated events is the Annual Kids Tournament that gives prizes to all who participate. The kids are thrilled when they first land a fish from our stocked ponds. The children and grandchildren of residents always enjoy their special outing.
An Adult Tournament is also held each year with prizes awarded for the largest fish caught. Bragging rights are more important than the cash prizes, though the dollars given are enough for a fun celebration. The fish caught in both tournaments are returned to the ponds so that anglers will have the chance to catch and release them again.
To volunteer to help or for more information, contact long-term member of the club Jackie Wagner, a Schooner resident, at 847-212-0345. She’ll be happy to discuss the opportunity with any person who would be interested in perpetuating the Landings Fishing Club.
